Beware of “painted” rugs!
When buying a rug, test for “painting” by applying water to a white towel and rubbing any suspicious looking worn areas. If color transfers to the towel, the rug has been “painted.” They will wear quickly and cannot be cleaned without the “paint” bleeding all over the rug.

Do you store your rug away during the summer months?
Rugs should be properly wrapped in tear resistant, water resistant and breathable paper for storage. We use a museum approved wrap and never use plastic for long-term storage, as it does not allow the rug to breathe and may cause mildew.
